Second Ward Alumni House
High School in Charlotte, NC
The 1st high school for African American students in Charlotte, Second Ward High School was the core of a once flourishing black neighborhood. During a time of segregation, the school provided respect and safety. After the loss of the school, the alumni organized the Foundation in 1980 to keep the Second Ward legacy alive. The Foundation has purchased a House which serves as our museum and stores our archive. It is available for meetings and research.
